Aguabajo, Jazz, funk and… Cumbia!
Met zijn band Tico y Aguabajo maakt Tico Pierhagen de verbinding tussen zijn twee werelden. Door de Europese muziek te combineren met de muziek die hij uit zijn vaderland heeft meegekregen, creëert hij een nieuw en fris geluid: sterke melodieën, smaakvol verweven in prachtige ritmes. De band heeft gespeeld op bekende podia en festivals over de hele wereld, zoals: het Bimhuis, de Kleine Zaal, het Concertgebouw, Dias Latinos (Nederland), het Torrarica Hotel (Suriname), Spokane en Washington (VS).
With his band Tico y Aguabajo, he makes the connection between his two worlds. By combining the European music with the music he has inherited from his homeland he creates a new and fresh sound : strong melodies which has been tastefully intertwined in beautiful rhytms.
